Thank you for the music!

Bay Community Singers are thankful for the recent COVID restrictions being lifted. Throughout June and July we have been able to rehearse in Park Road Gardens weather permitting.

This has been a real tonic for many of the choir members as we haven’t been able to have face to face rehearsals since March 2020 due to the pandemic. Initially, we took to Zoom and sang together online, as restrictions eased the BCS committee decided it was time to take the next step and sing outdoors.

To be able to meet for rehearsals again outside has lifted the choir’s spirits. We have focused on songs in our repertoire and entertained a few spectators who happened to pass by. One holiday maker said how delightful it was to hear live music again and how superb we sounded.

From Thursday September 9th we will resume rehearsals indoors, initially at St Paul’s Church.  There will still  be some regulations in place to ensure the safety and well being of our members.

We aim to hold a concert in Victoria Hall on Thursday 21st October which we had to previously postpone from March 2020.  All proceeds will be going to our chosen charity of St Mary’s Hospice.

Charitable Donations from Bay Community Singers.

We had our annual carol singing on 21/12/19 when, with the help of Grange over Sands, we raised £130 for Blood Bikes Cumbria.

In 2019 we donated £600 to the Motor Neurone Association and £400 to the Community Lunch and Food Share.

We also donated £100 to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Bay Community Singers member Lawrie Woodley.

We very much appreciate the support of the Grange over Sands community and look forward to entertaining them at the Victoria Hall on 26/3/20.
